See the cool looking barn owl below. This photo was taken during The Curve’s bird show in June this year. They have quite a few species of birds on display in the show but the one that caught my attention the most is this BARN OWL.
“The Barn Owl is a pale, long-winged, long-legged owl with a short squarish tail. It measures about 25–45 cm (9.8–18 in) in overall length, with a wingspan of some 75–110 cm (30–43 in). Tail shape is a way of distinguishing the Barn Owl from other type of owls when seen in flight, as are the wavering motions and the open dangling feathered legs. The light face with its heart shape and the black eyes give the flying bird an odd and startling appearance, like a flat mask with oversized oblique black eyeslits, the ridge of feathers above the bill somewhat resembling a nose.” from wiki
Personally i find their mask-like face very intriguing. Another fascinating point about the barn owl is how silently they fly and move about with their wide-span wings. You can never guess that their wings are so wide when you see them standing silently in the photo above
